Liam Update Finally!

So it's been ages since I wrote anything on the blog....

Liam is growing up so fast. He's so tall now and his feet seem like they are growing right before my eyes. He's almost into a size 7 shoe! (I have no idea what that translates to in a US size.) He says so many words now, and in the last two weeks he is finally saying "drink" instead of "a-boo" when he wants a drink! No luck yet with toilet training. He isn't telling me as much when he's done a poo now, not like before. No hurry for toilet training really.

Things Liam really loves at the moment:

Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine (that seems to be the only thing he wants to watch this week, he'd watch it all day if I let him I think!), Makka Pakka from The Night Garden, Pirate toys, shirts whatever (it was a tough choice for t-shirts the yesterday between the pirate ship shirt or the train t-shirt, the train t-shirt won out).

Liam can count up to 20 now, can say all of the alphabet and knows most of the shapes and he's getting better with colours. He has turned into a bit of a parrot too and will copy you if you say something enough or if you ask him to try. He has definitely become a bit of a monkey though. He will climb onto anything! We have put our bar stools in the garage for awhile as he can climb up onto those on his own without any trouble at all. We have turned around a few times yesterday to find him sitting up there! He also thought he might try using the handles on the drawers as foot holds to try and climb onto the bench!

Liam is starting to find things amusing. For example, if he's watching tv and he sees kids dancing he starts laughing, it's so funny to watch. He is also being a typical two year old by always testing me to see what he can get away with and doing his cheeky grin thing. Today I felt like a broken record with all the no's I was saying!

I am sure there are heaps of things I've forgotten to write! I"ll try to update a bit more often for all of you overseas that don't get to see Liam.

Liam just loves to play in the water. Give him a bucket and some water and he's so happy. Dirt seems to be coming a close second these days. I suppose he's just a typical boy. He seems to be either dripping wet or filthy dirty these days! I am sure Liam will love his Christmas present. We bought him a water table in the hope that he might stop playing with the dog's drinking water! We are also going to get him a sand pit. He will still probably prefer the dirt and the dogs water, ah well....

He was trying to get something out of his toybox and he fell in (he didn't cry) and he decided he liked being in there and started to throw everything out. He wanted to get out once the toybox was empty. The other part is him with my sneakers on, which I think is quite cute.

Bill and I are off to the coast today for the long weekend. Bill and some friends are hopefully going to swap out the engine in our boat.

I shall post more pictures after the weekend. Maybe Bill will post about how the engine swap over goes.

We took him to the beach and he loved it! We had such great weather it was so much warmer than our last trip. The previous trip was winter weather, and this last one was summer weather. I loved it and didn't want to come home!

We took Liam's new cot down and made it into a toddler bed for him and he seems quite happy with it. No drama's through the night or anything with him waking up.

I must get a height chart for Liam so I can keep up with his height. He seems to have shot upwards again. Often when I go shopping he just walks around now if I don't have too much to shop for. I don't think the he will be in the pram for too much longer.

Liam still really loves Eve and wants to feed her all day. He usually feeds her twice each day. I give him the cup with her food in it, and he stands outside and throws handfuls of it on the ground. Kinda like you would throw bird seed really.

He was being so cute walking around with a trash can on his head and saying "cool". At the end of the clip he is asking for a book.

Liam is still sleeping excellently in his toddler bed. Bill and I are looking for another cot to buy to take down the coast, as he has basically grown out of his portacot. We plan to turn the cot into a toddler bed too, then when we have another baby we can turn it back into a cot. Beats taking the portacot everytime, especially as we are going to the coast a lot more at the moment.

Bill and I have been doing a bit of spring cleaning and we had some empty storage crates sitting in the lounge room. A couple of days ago Liam thought he would help out by taking all the books of a couple of shelves on the bookcase and filling up the crates for us!

I have also put up a few more pictures on our picture site too. Hey Laura have you still been taking pictures of your pregnant belly? hint hint :)

It's been awhile...

Ok, so it's been ages since I posted anything.

Liam had his 18 month check up a couple of weeks ago. He has grown so much! When I got him checked he was 86.5cm long and he weighed 13.650 kilos. Last weekend Bill and I turned his cot into a toddler bed as he was starting to try and climb out. We have had no problems with him sleeping in the toddler bed. He hasn't figured out yet how to get down as there is a rail. He either cries or says "stuck" when he wants out. He talks so much now and is repeating two words at the moment when you say them like "tick tock" or "big boy". He has pretty much figured out how to open the doors in our house and the freezer. We have put those knob covers over doors we don't want him to open.

I started writing this yesterday and now it's morning and I have totally lost my train of thought! I will try to post again soon. I will also try to take more photos, I have been a bit slack lately!

Liam enjoyed the boat and we took him to the park and he played for about 45 minutes. He had a 2 and a half hour nap after the park. Must have worn him out!!
